ATMANIRBHAR KRISHI APP

The Union Government launched the ‘Atmanirbhar Krishi App’ on June 29, 2021, to provide farmers the actionable agricultural awareness and weather alerts.

During the time of launch, the Principal Scientific Advisor to Government VijayRaghavan said that with the Atmanirbhar Krishi app, farmers will now be able to get to know all the information with shreds of evidence which are generated by the research organizations of India such as ISRO, IMD, CGWA, and ICAR.

All the information is made available in a manner that is understandable to the farmers.

In the development of this app, the major stakeholder is the Founder Trustee, Raja Seeva of Bengaluru-based Indian Center for Social Transformation (ICST).

All the data related to soil type, soil health, moisture, weather, water table were collected and then analyzed, then generates personalized awareness points related to crop selection, water needs, fertilizers required for each farmer at the farm holding level.

IMPORTANCE OF ATMANIRBHAR KRISHI APP –

Whenever the app will be used by the farmers to make the decisions on the cropping patterns, stubble burning will guarantee that whatever the decisions are made will be of use and importance to the farmers.

IMPORTANT FEATURES OF THE APP –

This app has simplified language to make it easy to understand farmers. It is available in 12 languages.

The android version, as well as the Windows version, are available free of cost to the farmers at the google play store.

Taking in hand the network issue of rural areas the app is built in such a way that it will work in minimum bandwidth.

Farmers do not need to put any information; the app is dependent on the location of the farm to provide all the data.

The data relating to another farm can be collected by just entering the pin code of that area.
