INDIAN SPACE ASSOCIATION TO BE LAUNCHED ON 11 OCTOBER BY THE PM | UPSC EXAM

SIGNIFICANCE AND AIM – 

  • The Indian Space Organisation is a leading trade association for space and satellite businesses that seeks to represent the industry’s collective voice.
  • The space association’s goal is to connect with all stakeholders in the Indian space sector and advocate for policies. It will interact with all of the government’s agencies.
  • Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the Indian Space Association will assist India in becoming technologically advanced, self-reliant, and a major participant in the space arena.

  • Leading Indian and international businesses with sophisticated space and satellite technology capabilities are represented by the Indian Space Association (ISpA).
  • The association’s tagline is “Bhumandal Se Brahmaand Tak,” which translates as “Earth to the Universe.”
  • Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Larson & Toubro, Bharti Airtel, Nelco (Tata Group), OneWeb, Walchandnagar Industries, Ananth Technology Limited, and Mapmyindia are among the founding members.
  • Hughes India, BEL, Azista-BST Aerospace Private Limited, Godrej, Centum Electronics, and Maxar India are among the other founding members.
  • “Indian Space Industry will experience a tremendous increase in possibilities, with opening up of Space Domain for private Industry, by our Visionary Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi,” Satyam Kushwaha, Director of Indian Space Association, tweeted.
  • “ISpA sees a great opportunity in collaborating with the Indian Space Industry to expand India’s worldwide footprint in the space sector,” he added. He went on to remark that allowing the private sector access to India’s space domain is both timely and historic.
