- The software has been launched by Coal India Limited for a better estimate of coal resources.
- On September 4, 2021, state-owned coal India limited announced that it has launched software that will identify the thin coal seams under the earth’s crust.
- During the exploration process, by using seismic surveys, the software will also help in improving the assessment of resources of fossil fuel.
- In the presence of the Research & Development Board of Maharatna firm, Pramod Aggarwal, CIL CMD, launched the software.
- This made-in-India software will also help in saving time and the cost of coal exploration.
- The Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI), the research and development arm of Coal India Ltd., had developed this software in association with Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI).
